I Love It When a Chapter Comes Together!
May. 12th, 2010 11:56 amWell, finally I know what all this has been about.
The Don Quixote analogue in my protag's backstory - and what my protag did after the Don died - turn out not just to be character rounding after all. Likewise his clash with the Angry Young Woman. Put them together with the stick-bout, and it all leads me to:
- What he needs to do here;
- Why his allies can't let him do it;
- What they're all going to do instead.
Which gives me the conflict and the insufficient-resolution I wanted, but couldn't earlier get, from the chapter. I think.
Busy evening ahead.
