Excellent news to hear -- not least because I was looking at the ear this morning, and was relieved to get the report that there was nothing obviously physically wrong with my eyes and the persistent visual problem is probably ocular migraine as suspected. The exam did, of course, finish with the regulation admonition to come back in at once if not sooner should I get any of the detachment warning signs. My retinal tear was around ten years ago and had healed neatly of its own accord before I even noticed the giant floater, but anything like that means you're permanently in the "at risk" group.
