Happy New Year!

Well, here we go, and here's hoping...
After long silence I think I'd like to make the occasional post again - partly in a spirit of "I aten't dead!", and partly just to thumb my nose at the sneak of weasels in my head who've been discouraging much social media activity on my part, these past few years. This is turning out surprisingly hard.
Otherwise I'm happy, moderately healthy, and I'm about exactly half-way through writing a secondary-world fantasy-of-manners trilogy which I'm really, really enjoying.
Good fortune and the best possible 2022 to you all!

Date: 2022-01-15 03:39 pm (UTC)I was remembering a horse battle scene you were working on years and years ago, and I pointed out my experience with Cashew, the shetland pony that died and we had to bury, and other dead farm animals, and how a scene full of dead horses was going to stink something FIERCE.
Came to mind because friend part of the family who's "rent to own"ing our farm, was telling me about psycho next door neighbor's horse was making "I don't feel so good" noises (spoiler alert; he's fine) and so the memory hole dug itself.
It's been way years I think, since I saw anything from you?

Date: 2022-01-16 11:58 am (UTC)I think that must have been the battle near the end of Three Katherines of Allingdale, and wow, that was some while back! Every so often I go and look at the sprawling monster that is the first draft of that book/ sequence/ whatever, and see if I'm capable of wrestling it into a decent final product yet; but nah, so far, nothing doing.
Yes, it's been a long time. Anxiety issues and stuff. Happy to be more or less back!
