Bringing It Home in an Ox-Cart

caper_estOn the one hand, not many words for a Saturday - 510. On the other hand, finished my chapter! And lots of new ideas for the next, the true chapter of the Wassail which this arc has been all about, and one of the first great anchoring images of the story as I first imagined it.
The pomp of oxen, and the seduction of home, and second person pronouns.
A deep breath, now. I'm going to begin the Wassail chapter, because I woke up with a scene practically forced upon me; but will I finish it on this pass, or will I have to go back and do the grand revision of these three previous exploratory chapters first? I think not - I'd like to revise the whole arc in one fell swoop - but at any rate, a whopping negative wordcount is now looming on the horizon.
If I hadn't factored that in when I gave myself the all-clear to write a string of chapters I didn't well understand, I'd find it right depressing. As it is, it's a milestone I've actually been looking forward to.
